Mike,
Give a listen to the "So Now What" podcast for some ideas http://www.arrl.org/so-now-what . Michelle Patnode does a good job. Amanda Alden may also have some stuff for previous Ham Nation episodes.

Subject: [PPRAANet] Looking for input for Intro to Ham Radio course
I am putting together a course for new hams to answer the question"Now I Have My License...What Do I Do?"
I have heard that comment too many times at the exam sessions from new Techs. I need input and suggestions and I will take it from there. If you would like to be a part of a "brain storming" group and do more that just make suggestion I would gladly accept the help. Just face to face idea exchange unless you want to do more.
I would set up meeting at the new Carl's restaraunt every so often and the group would discuss suggestions received and share additional ideas and how to present then.
Aye matey are ye along for the voyage? Aaaarrrggghhh!
