[PPRAANet] Need third opinion

Do you have a FT-857D?  I purchased a meter 
on Ebay and found it to be defective.  I wrote the seller who recommended several troubleshooting tips. No Joy. Had Jim, KD0KQL, plug it into his radio. No Joy.
The seller is now asking for a third opinion. If you own a FT-857D would you take a few minutes to plug the meter into your radio and confirm the meter is defective?
