Hello from the Northern Colorado ARC and the WWV Centennial Committee,

*The WWV Operator Application is now on-line and interested amateurs who
would like to be an operator are encouraged to apply!*

Anyone interested in being an operator for the WWV Centennial
Celebration can fill out an *Operator Application*
<http://wwv100.com/index.php/operator-application>, NOW AVAILABLE at the
WWV100.com <http://wwv100.com/> website.  NCARC will operate a Special
Event Amateur Radio Station, call sign WW0WWV, for 5 days from September
27 - October 2 (9/28-10/2 UTC) adjacent to the WWV/WWVB site.  There
will be potentially 4 simultaneous stations on the air at the same time,
and the stations will operate 24-hours a day for the 5 days.  The
National Institute of Standards and Technology, NIST, will formally
recognize the 100th anniversary of WWV on October 1, 2019, at the
station site.

Individuals are welcome to apply.  If you’ve got a good ham-buddy or are
a member of a club, consider coming as a 2-person team or larger group.
Operator shifts will be 3 hours long, 2 hours actually operating, 2
operators to a shift.  Do the math and we need to fill 480 operator
shifts!  Yes, there will be opportunity to work multiple shifts, but we
also want to allow as many operators to participate as we can.  There
will be a need for substitutes, so help will always be welcome if you
happen to be hanging out.  We will have specific shifts working SSB, CW,
and data, so please indicate your mode preferences on your application.
Also indicate what days you are available during the event (September
27 - October 2).  We’ll work out specific shift times later.

Applications will be accepted through the end of April, probably longer.
We’ll start getting back to applicants with their status mid-April,
and begin assigning specific shifts.  Earlier entries will be given
preference when choosing operator assignments, so apply soon!  Again,
tell us specifics about what days you are available.  There is an “Other
Information” field you can use to elaborate on anything you’d like.

We’d like to answer any questions you may have.  Send us an email at
wwv at ncarc.net <mailto:wwv at ncarc.net>

Please pass this email on to anyone you think may be interested.  Club
members are not necessarily bound to work with their club, and can apply
as an individual or one other as desired.  It is OK to post this to a
club mailing list, but PLEASE DON’T SPAM any mail servers!

We hope to see you in Northern Colorado from September 27 - October 2,
2019, for the 100th anniversary of WWV and to join us as an operator of
WW0WWV.

73,
Dave
