Dear Glenn,

We’re waiting on the Governor, and the clock is ticking.

As you know, Rocky Mountain Gun Owners and pro-gun members of the 
Colorado House of Representatives are suing Governor Jared Polis and 
Speaker of the House KC Becker over the illegal and unconstitutional 
passage of HB19-1177 -- the Red Flag Gun Confiscation scheme.

Governor Polis’ legal department must file their response to our lawsuit 
by Thursday, June 27. That will set the stage -- and the calendar -- for 
our Red Flag lawsuit to proceed.

Let me remind you what’s at stake.

Democrats control both chambers of our state legislature and Governor’s 
office, and it led to one of the most acrimonious and hostile 
legislative sessions I’ve been part of throughout my 25 years 
representing gun owners in Colorado.

Anti-gun Democrats rammed through one of the worst gun confiscation 
bills in the country -- HB19-1177, the Red Flag Gun Confiscation scheme.

Without regard for due process, or the idea that Americans are innocent 
until proven guilty, HB19-1177 allows legally-owned guns to be seized 
from Coloradans without due process -- with as little as an anonymous 
complaint.

It even allows SWAT teams to conduct no-knock raids on ordinary gun owners.

This law puts the lives of women and children in danger, as it’s ripe 
for abuse by violent ex-partners and even stalkers who can use it as a 
means to disarm their victims.

That’s why similar “Red Flag” Gun Confiscation legislation was recently 
killed in Utah, New Mexico AND Arizona.

Of course, your efforts helped defeat this bill last year too, but the 
new anti-gun majorities in Colorado don’t seem to care about the 
Constitution or due process.

*In fact, they even violated our state Constitution to pass the bill!*

House Democrats REFUSED to read the bill in its entirety, despite 
requests by pro-gun State Representatives Dave Williams and Lori Saine 
for the bill to be read at length.

*You see, this is the crux of our lawsuit.*

Article V of the of the Colorado Constitution specifically states any 
legislator can request ANY bill be read at length, and their request 
MUST be honored.

/Every bill shall be read by title when introduced, and at length on two 
different days in each house; provided, however, any reading at length 
may be dispensed with upon *_unanimous consent of the members 
present_.*/ - Article V, Section 22.

Representative Saine and Williams’ separate requests for the bill to be 
read at length constitutes the breaking of “unanimous consent” and makes 
the refusal to read the bill at length a violation of the state 
Constitution, which voids the passage and enactment of the bill.

We will prove in court that House Democrats refused to uphold the 
Colorado Constitution when they denied motions to read HB19-1177 at length.

Again, Governor Polis’ office has until this Thursday to file an 
official, legal response to our lawsuit.

Once they file their response, the court will set a calendar for motions 
and hearings for this important Red Flag lawsuit.

I will be sure our staff keeps you updated on the status of our lawsuit 
against the unconstitutional Red Flag Law.
