In order to find the source of the interference, either we need someone to go on a fox hunt or we need signal strength reports from radios with similar characteristics such as using everyone using an HT with a 15 to 17 inch antenna -- just on the HT, no vehicle mounts.  Different reports from stations with different antennas  will not help much.


If people can put together a simple 2 meter dipole and turn it until the signal drops and find the null for the signal, the antenna should be in line with the source.  Remember, dipoles are broadside antennas, most sensitive perpendicular to the length of the antenna and at the least sensitive off the ends.  With a few different azimuth readings from different parts of the city, it isn't difficult to get the general area of the source.
