Dear PPRAAers,
I was able to drop by and visit Rich for a bit on Sunday afternoon. All things considered, he seemed to be doing ok. He's lost quite a bit of weight, so don't be shocked if you decide to drop by yourself.
We talked about some good things and some hard things, like how can we help Anet if this doesn't end as hoped, especially with regard to his radio gear? I volunteered Jim Madsen, K3ILC, (sorry Jim, you came to mind at that moment) and myself to help sell it if that's what they would like to happen. We ended on an "up" note, and I plan to drop in again tomorrow or Thursday if possible. He said he loves to get visitors, even if it's for just 20-30 minutes!
His address is 820 Paddock Road, out towards Ellicott down Route 94. If you plan to drop by, you can text him (719) 459-0339 or text or call Anet (719) 499-8680 to make sure they're there.
One last thing. This made me get to thinking (a rare occurrence, I know): None of us are getting any younger, (I just turned 59 today), and it might be a good idea to have a written plan (if we don't already) for all of these wonderful shiny boxes and wired bits of communication goodness that we have accumulated over the years. Itemized descriptions and disposition desires, including applicable valuation ranges for each, just might be a good idea, especially if our loved ones aren't into amateur radio. Not meaning to be a noodge; just thinking.
73,
