Special Weather Statement
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
559 AM MST Sat Nov 10 2018
Snow and cold will spread across southern Colorado beginning late
tonight and continuing through Monday morning. The heaviest snow
will focus across the northeast facing slopes of the southeast
mountains, including Pikes Peak, the Wet Mountains and the Sangre
De Cristo mountains. These areas could see accumulations range
between 4 and 14 inches by late Monday morning. The remainder of
the mountains, valleys and adjacent lower elevations along the
I-25 corridor will see some lighter accumulations in the 1 to 5
inch range, with the heavier of these amounts falling along the
southern I-25 corridor south of Pueblo, along the crest of the
Palmer Divide and portions of Fremont county. The far southeast
plains will see the snowfall accumulations under an inch for most
areas. This will be a drier and fluffier snowfall, which will
allow it to pile up efficiently, especially for areas where snow
persists the longest. Therefore, some variability from these
anticipated snowfall amounts will be possible.

Prepare now for winter driving conditions, particularly if you
have travel plains across southern Colorado Sunday through Monday. This
storm system will be much colder than the previous few, which
will result in an immediate switch over to snow on Sunday even
across the lower elevations. The heaviest snow is expected to fall
Sunday afternoon through Sunday night. Expect impacts to travel
in and near the mountains on Sunday, with deteriorating
conditions spreading across the lower elevations Sunday night as
temperatures fall into the teens. Monday morning will likely be a
slick commute for many.
