[PPRAANet] Trip to Cheyenne Mountain

Ray AA0L allowed me to ride up to the summit of Cheyenne Mountain with him today. The trip was mostly on cleared dirt roads with a forest of trees everywhere. Reaching the summit was unbelievable. Huge towers everywhere like a forest. Little buildings like a mountain community housing all the transmitters feeding the antennas. Antennas made up of multiple elements supported by the huge towers. Like nothing I have ever seen before. The view to the east over Colorado Springs was breath taking. I took lots of pictures which I will show as a power point before club meeting in March. I saw the 147.345 repeater site, met the engineer for KCME. I called on 146.460 and folks heard me but the kilowatts being radiated blocked my receiver. Next time I go up I will take a few radios and see if I can hear hams in the city.
