     To all:

This is not a scare alert but a _/*warning*/_! As most may know I've
been hospitalized for some time!!!!! What a past couple of weeks!

I wouldn't wish to give this to the people/ person I hate the most!!
What started out as just horrendous back pain, which I had but thought
was under control, first

attack, I ended up hospitalized again but got a UTI (urinary infection)
and if that wasn't enough shingles and to the best of my knowledge I
NEVER had the pox! Ironically, according to the CDC they say it is
possible to get the shingles first even if ones never had the pox, so I
guess I've officially now had/ have the pox???

So at least temporarily I'm back just waiting for the shingles to to get
lost!!

There is a blood test for myeloma and if one is having bad to severe
back problems  may not be bad idea to get checked out for it. It is
_/*VERY*/_ sneaky! Mine is directly on the spine with 3 fractured
vertebrae which they said should heal but the the tumor is wrecking/
compressing the disks hence the pain.

The initial evaluation to help confirm a *diagnosis* of *myeloma*
includes blood and urine tests as well as a bone marrow biopsy. Other
tests include X-rays. MRIs, CT scans and PET scans. The standards for
diagnosing *multiple myeloma* are determined by the *myeloma diagnostic*
criteria. I've read/ heard X-Rays can miss the myeloma! My initial one did!!

I'm not looking for a crying towel but to hopefully help/ save someone
from my diagnosis or at least it's severity! Unless my reading is sub
par I don't recall seeing cure used when
discussing this cancer, only remission! Even my oncologist only uses
remission in our discussions!

How do you test for multiple myeloma?
*Tests and procedures used to diagnose multiple myeloma include:*

 1. Blood tests. Laboratory analysis of your blood may reveal the M
proteins produced by myeloma cells. ...
 2. Urine tests. ...
 3. Examination of your bone marrow. ...
 4. Imaging tests.

The test/ tests are NOT part of standard/ routine blood tests!!!! I
can't stress that enough! It usually attacks the back first as that is
the most load bearing part of the body!
I saw one link that says it is *NOT* hereditary yet my brother died from
the exact same thing about 16 months ago. So much for not hereditary!
If your having bad back problems, it may not be a bad idea to run tests,
if the doctor agrees, for myeloma!
The internet says at this time there is no cure, the best they can hope
for is remission and pain control!

Maybe Mike can start a lottery as part of the prizes at the club
meetings to see how long I remain out! Hah, hah!

This is/ was not meant as a scare alert but if caught early enough may
help someone else. They say I'm at stage 3 and for myeloma cancer that's
as high as it goes unless
I got some bad info! Great to be home as the hospital cable pulls more
vacuum than deep space and sitting in bed playing tiddly winks is for
the freaking birds!!! Pretty bad when the
high light of the day is watching cars running stop signs!!
