A few of you asked why we had a Facebook Page vs. a Facebook Group account. In the past, Facebook would only allow you to have one or the other.
Pages allow admins to manage content a lot more, whereas Groups allow for a lot more social interaction, but can be harder to manage as discussions can get a bit out of hand, so it often made a lot more sense to have a Page instead of a Group.
Facebook does now allow for having a Page and a Group, and for a Page and a Group to be linked, so as of today you will see that we now have a Group as well as a Page. The group is "PPRAA-Pikes Peak Radio Amateur Association (group)" and it is listed on the Facebook Page. If there is enough interest, then we may set up multiple discussion sections for different subjects such as antennas, grounding, FT8, APRS, etc. If it fails to get used, then we will drop it.
The group is currently set to Public, but the admins have to approve membership in order for people to be able to post. Right now, only licensed operators or club members will be approved. Remember to keep things clean and polite, just as you would on the air.
