Good to hear Art.  I only use my SAL on 80m and 160m.  On 80m I always use
the unidirectional mode.  On 160m I always use the bidirectional mode.  The
Uni mode loses too much gain on 160m.  Experiment with different
directions.  Sometimes I get better results pointing the antenna away from
the noise as opposed to pointing the antenna at the DX.  I always use my
SAL and never the TX vertical.
