I want to clarify:  The website has not been hacked.  The reflector has not been hacked.  And as far as we know, the reflector list has not been exposed.   Just be aware, especially board members, that our board member information is public knowledge and that scammers may use that to their advantage to try to con you.

The important take-aways from my original email should be to pay close attention to what an email says even if it looks like it came from a legitimate account and that the club will not ask you for money in advance for later reimbursement.

This holds true for ANY emails, not just PPRAA related.

Sorry if some folks got the impression that the reflector had been hacked.

As was noted on the radio net last night, there have been several phishing attempts from people trying to get money from club members.  They appear to actually be reading the website and know who the President, Treasurer, etc are by name.  This and the fact that they are spoofing the email addresses for club officers makes these a little harder to spot.  They are asking members to send money to a "vendor" and that the member will be reimbursed -- something the club would never ever do.  They have hit me up twice so far this week.
