Forwarding the message I received from the ARRL yesterday.
The Parity Act, HR1301, passed the House of Representatives a few days
ago. We now need to get its counterpart, S1685 (ARRL omitted this
number on their web site), through the Senate. Make sure you mention
S1685 when contacting your Senators.
And it's not like voting -- you may contact your Senators more than
once. The ARRL website suggests sending an email. In addition to this,
I recommend giving your Senators' offices a phone call. Call both the
local and the Washington, DC offices.
And when you call, you might want to start out asking what your
Senator's position is on S1685. This forces them to have to look it up,
and if they don't know what it is, they need to research it (but don't
say that). Then explain to them in your own words what it is, and why
it's important to you.
On the negative side, I don't think the Senate version has been
"massaged" like the House version, after negotiations with the
organization representing HOAs.
