[PPRAANet] WARNING! Scam e-mail

I take a more proactive approach for emails (scams) like this.
I have an account (free) with www.spamcop.net
I copy the message source (the entire email message source, including
all hidden header and formatting information) and paste it into the
window in spamcop for reporting spam.
Spamcop parses the message's headers and body, to find out which email
addresses are real and which ones are forgeries, and reports the spam to
the administrator of the sending email server.
It also passes the email body for links, and reports to the website
administrators as appropriate, so that any malicious web sites may be
terminated.
If you chose to do this, time is of the essence, since you want to shut
down the scammers' accounts while they are still active.
If the scam pretends to be sent from a banking facility, I also send a
copy of the message's source to the abuse email address for the banking
institution.
I'm not sure if my actions have ever shut anyone down, but doing this
makes me feel pretty good anyway. :-)
