[PPRAANet] Signal on 146.52

My thoughts on this matter --

Yesterday, I also tried to see if I could pick up another instance of
the signal using my $8 dongle with its 2-MHz wide spectrum analyzer
window and the small 6" whip that came with it.

I could pick up the signal well on 146.52 with that set up. This was
tedious, but I went from 148 MHz to about 171 MHz in 2MHz steps, and
didn't pick up another instance of the signal (using my HT to monitor
146.52, so I'd know when it was transmitting).

It seems to me, that if this transmission is a legitimate transmission
on an incorrect frequency, that whoever is using this communication
should know that something is amiss, since they can't communicate on the
correct frequency.
Unless someone deliberately set the transmitter on that frequency, not
knowing any better, or not caring.

I'm not sure if anyone said they got a bearing on the frequency, but
this afternoon or tomorrow, I may take my XCVR and my Arrow antenna
antenna out on the back deck to try to get a bearing on it. My Arrow
antenna is mounted on a tripod, so I can rotate it pretty fast and
accurately by hand.
And I can listen on SSB to the carrier, so I can audibly tell when the
signal peaks.

While I'm typing this, just saw the message from W0RW -- so if he's not
successful ---
