[PPRAANet] QSL Cards for W1AW/W100AW Centennial Operations

Happy New Year All --

I contacted many of the W1AW and W100AW centennial operations in 2014, 
and has not received any QSL cards.  I thought maybe they got lost in 
the mail, or the bureau (3rd call area for me) did not receive my last 
SASEs.

So today, I phoned the ARRL, assuming my opportunity to receive these 
QSL cards has passed, and asked if there was anything they could do at 
this late date.

I spoke to someone from the W1AW station, who told me the reason I 
hadn't received the cards is because they had not sent out any cards yet.

He said they have to send about 3,500,000 cards, and will probably send 
them during the second quarter of this year.  One problem they had was 
how to deal with those that have sent SASEs and those who have made 
bureau requests (these all have to be dealt with separately).  He said 
that they will probably send the cards for the portable operations 
first, because these are the most popular.

He also told me he hopes they send these cards soon, because he wants 
his conference room back (sounds like all the cards and related 
materials are being kept in the conference room).

I suggested that ARRL put this info on their web site.
