Good advice, Steve. I'm sure the club is appreciative of your efforts.
Hope you and Carol are OK. I still have a cast on my right foot, but hopefully it will be able to be taken off on Monday, 2/29. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Dick - W0RAA

As noted below the two big things to take away is that a Special Use Permit has to be issued before any operation can be conducted. You can request the form by sending a request to shawn_g_gillette at nps.gov ,also please note that the site is restricting the operation to only 2 people and the Special Use Permit fee is waived. If more then two people are going to set up and operate then you will have to pay the $25.00 for the Special Use Permit. In talking to Shawn on the phone there are trees in the area but they do not want any wires in the trees or any thing attached to the trees. The only thing that should be in the trees are the birds.

> Thanks for your telephone call yesterday. After discussing with the park Superintendent, we would be happy to have you come out to the park and set up your radio unit. I would like to have this activity conducted under a Special Use Permit. All this does is formerly acknowledge your request and stipulate the park rules/regulations under which you may conduct your radio activity. As long as you are doing this activity with just yourself, and maybe one other person, the park will waive all the fees associated with the activity. What I will need you to do is download the attached application, complete it and then send it to my attention either electronically or through the mail to the following address:
