Today, Veterans Day, Nov 11, 2014 seven brave souls plus one XYL gathered at the club station near Ellicott, CO to honor veterans with a special event station. We had 64 QSO's with the furtherest being Brazil and that was on 10 meters.

Setup began about 8:30 AM and the first station was on the air as planned at 9:45 AM. Temperature outside at that time was 13 degrees. Inside the station was 40 degrees. We operated until 3:00PM and began takedown. The site was secured at 4:00PM. At that time the outside was 20 degrees with 50 degrees inside. There was light wind and snow most of the day. By the end there were about 2 inches of snow on the ground.

Special thanks goes to Doug, N7LEM for preparing the food and assuring hot cider and cocoa was available for all to enjoy. Thanks also goes to Brad and Barb, the property owners, for allowing the club to use their facilities for our club operating activities.

Stay tuned for the next operating even down the road. More details coming.
