Boardmembers, club and all,

I think you may have seen our new Channel 13 weather man, Jason Laird, on TV recently. I got an email from Ron Glass in Montana a while back that Jason was moving here. He took one of the vacant slots at Channel 13 and started just the other day. If anyone knows of a suitable radio for him, please let him know. I'm sure he'd like to hear from as many of us as possible.

It'll be good to have an Amateur weatherman who's active in Skywarn and ARES in our midst.

Jim Bishop

> I got the word from Ron Glass, WN7Y, a while ago that you were coming to us. Welcome! Things were probably pretty busy for you, but I hope you were able to look us up before you pulled up stakes and moved here. Hope you are getting settled in and finding things to your liking here.
>
> Hope you can find time to visit us at our monthly ham club meetings and especially hope you can come up to our annual Megafest in Monument this Saturday. It's our big deal for the year and will cap a very positive year in the history of our club, the Pikes Peak Radio Amateur Association, PPRAA. Please go to our website, www.PPRAA.org to find the details of the Megafest and also our club meeting location and dates. We have some really good prizes this year. I already have my stack of tickets for the drawing, but will invest in more. It all goes for a good cause.

> I saw you on the air yesterday and I'm sure you'll fit right in with the rest of my favorites on CH13. Possibly after you get settled in, I'd like to talk to you about doing a presentation for the club. Weather is very important to us here and especially from someone who is involved as you are in ham radio as well. We'll discuss when we meet.
>
> If you can make it to either the Megafest or the club meetings, just ask for me by call or name. Failing that, ask for the operator of the "Blue Bunny". That's how most folks know me. I'm good on QRZ!
>
> If you are able, give any of us locals a call on simplex, 146.460. We have a great time there and there are a lot of us ready to chat with you. Lots of Jims there. On a good day, we can manage to get 5 or 6 on the air at one time. We have our own "Jim Net".
