On a more positive note.  I found a special bond with my local Fire 
Department.  I will turn 49 this year and I regret not investigating the 
Fire Service as a career when I was much younger.  When fires start 
while I am in Colorado my heart aches and I want to go help. 
Unfortunately, I live in a district where all the FFs are paid.  I wish 
that the paid departments could find place for us with skills and 
talents and experience.  I know there are many like myself that would 
love to lend a hand as that is the type of people most FF are.

If we have younger people on the list who are looking for a rewarding 
career check out the Fire Service.  It may not be for all but there is 
something very special about the service.
