> A state QSO party is an event where stations try to work as many counties within the state. Of course, the best QSO parties are ones where all the counties are represented.

> In general, the exchange for a QSO party is either the signal report plus the county, or a name plus the county.  The COQP follows the Name and County exchange method.  One of the reasons for the exchange is to report two meaningful pieces of information to make the QSO party useful for operators enhancing their HF skills especially as it pertains to emergency communications.

> Operations can be done field-day style, mobile/rover, or your primary station, using phone modes, CW, or digital modes.  There are many fine awards available.

> The COQP is Saturday of Labor Day weekend, and surprisingly has been become quite successful with campers both instate or traveling to Colorado to operate all or part of the day, and then spend the rest of the holiday weekend with their families.
