This weekend is the ARRL RTTY Roundup Contest, and the North American QSO
Party CW Contest.
* The RTTY Roundup begins 1800 UTC Saturday and ends 2400 UTC Sunday
(January 8-9, 2011). Operate no more than 24 hours. The rules for the ARRL
RTTY Roundup can be found at: http://www.arrl.org/rtty-roundup
* The NAQP CW begins 1800 UTC Saturday and ends 0600 UTC Sunday (January
8-9, 2011). The rules for the NAQP CW Contest can be found at:
http://www.ncjweb.com/naqprules.pdf
I hope that PPRAA members will participate in one or both of these contests.
They are both very popular contests, but this year they have a conflict of
dates, which normally only happens approximately every 7 years. So if you
enter either contest, be aware of others and stay in either the RTTY portion
of the bands or the CW portions. 80 & 40 meters will be the biggest
conflict. Keep in mind that RTTY can now be used in the 7.100 - 7.125
portion of the 40 meter band, so hopefully there will be activity there.
If you enter either contest, please submit your score on the 3830 web site.
The URL is: http://www.hornucopia.com/3830score/. Be sure to click on the
box that says to send a copy to your e-mail address. When you receive it,
send it to me at dickt[at]w0raa.com and I will post it in the PPRAA contest
spread sheet for the PPRAA Contest Award program. That is the only way a
contest score will be accepted, as it contains all the information I need in
order to put your score in the correct category. Keep in mind that this is
not the "official" site for sending your scores in, it's a site that many
contesters use to see how they did against their peers. Please read the
individual contest rules for the site to e-mail or snail mail your official
entry scores.
If I can answer any questions, please feel free to e-mail me or call me at
520-0288. I will be in the RTTY Roundup along with Shel Radin, KF0UR.
I hope to see some of the PPRAA members' calls scroll across my monitor.
Good luck.
