[PPRAANet] Facts about Facebook and myths to boot

To all:
I have been on the Internet now since 1994 (17 years). I have had my own
personal Facebook account for over three (3) years. From experience I can
tell you that I have seen the same formatted emails before that are
generated by Facebook as what this list saw, and I can tell you as a matter
of fact that in no way is Facebook somehow magically linked to this
reflector, not now or at any time. That is not how Facebook works. Rather,
the emails you saw were simply an invitation and/or an FYI that you could
chat with PPRAA members on Facebook as well and see some great pictures and
articles. The emails from Facebook that some have been so gravely concerned
about are harmless, nor are they spam for one simple reason: A member of
this reflector decided one day to notify you all of this very thing, that
PPRAA members are on Facebook. Now, how that somehow is spam, money making
schemes and snake oil is beyond me. Did I send the email? No. I did not even
know PPRAA existed on Facebook until this list notified us. I have since
been to the Facebook site and there are some great pictures of a picnic that
I suspect was sponsored by PPRAA and so forth. Someone really worked hard at
making it a good site and one that represents the membership of PPRAA well.
