Glen WE7C passed this along to me.
The radio is apparently modified for transmit outside of the ham bands and
covers 3 bands: 6M, 2M and 70cm.
Contact Kevin directly if you are interested at kdunkak at telluridecolorado.net

Hi Bob,

The radio is in excellent condition. It basically looks brand new and the
battery does hold a charge. I have had the radio since it was new and I remember
it was "modified" or "unlocked" but I can't tell you exactly what was changed. I
have attached a few photos for you to check out. I would like to get $135 for it
including shipping.

Thanks,

Kevin Dunkak

Kevin,

Glen tells me that you have a VX-5 radio for sale. What is the condition?

How much are you asking for it?

Glen,
Good to hear from you. I will pass this info along.

Have you looked at the proposal for Summits on the Air (SOTA) and the 14er Event?

One of the people I work with on the Hard Rock 100 run who ran the aid station
where I have been working has a Yaesu VX-5 handheld he would like to sell. As he
is not a ham I am trying to help him sell the unit, I think he came up with the
radio in his search and rescue activities in Telluride.

Anyway if you could let people who might be interested on the front range know
it would be appreciated. Kevin can be contacted at kdunkak at telluridecolorado.net

I had to cut my 14er event short last year to get down in time for my son’s
wedding that afternoon, anyway I had a great time as always and it was nice to
be in good conditions for a change on the summit. I am looking forward to next year.

Thanks for any help

Glen Noble WE7C
