On Saturday evening at 5 PM, Local Time) or 0000 UTC, Dec. 4th and running
until 2400 UTC on Sunday Dec. 5th is the Inaugural running of the new 10
Meter RTTY Contest. This is the very first running of this contest and with
10 meters being open all over the world, it would be a great opportunity to
get on and pick up a few new States or Countries in RTTY Mode.
If you are using WriteLog or N1MM Logger contesting software, you can choose
the ARRL RTTY Roundup module in either of these packages as the format,
since the report (RST + State/Province for W/VE) or (RST + QSO Number for
DX Stations) is the same as the ARRL RTTY Roundup format as well as scoring.
When you submit your Cabrillo file to he contest sponsors, the robot
software will change the contest name from ARRL RTTY to 10-RTTY
automatically.
Rules can be found at:
http://www.rttycontesting.com/the10meterrttycontest/rules.html.
If anybody wants to operate in this contest or just observe how a RTTY
contest is done, you may come over to my QTH (call me at 719.520.0288 for
directions, or contact Steve Sawyer (KT0DX) at 719.659.9674 and his address
is 2191 Calle Fontana, Fountain). He & I will also have 2 meters on 146.550
if someone is interested and needs directions. I use WriteLog and Steve
uses N1MM Logger. Both are excellent contest software programs. Hopefully
there will be somebody interested and want to come over to either his place
or mine. Just call first. This is a 24 hour contest (5 PM Local time
Saturday, Dec. 4th, to 5 PM Local Time, Sunday, Dec. 5th). It is limited to
low power (100 Watts or less) and Spotting assistance is allowed, including
Packet cluster and RTTY Skimmer. Self spotting is not allowed.
Hope to see some new (and old) faces in this contest. Ten meters has been
incredible the past few months and if you want to work all states or looking
for DXCC Digital, this would be an excellent opportunity.
Questions? Feel free to call me.

Dick - W0RAA
