*I was curious how well I would stand up to the serious mobile-philes. The
test was done on 75M.*
**
*The top 3 guys all had cap hats. I had a shortened whip borrowed from K0WJ
so I would be under the testing height limits. (my 102" whip would have been
closer to his score by a fraction of a point)*
**
*Each antenna had a signal generator hooked up to it with all the same power
out and the receiving station was about a quarter mile away in the New
Mexico desert.*
**
*Prior to starting my mobile install a few years ago, I contacted Alan, K0BG
who directed me to his website for detailed info about mobile installs
www.k0bg.com*
**
*Meeting Alan in Taos was a treat! This guy knows his stuff and has the best
mobile install I have ever seen.*
**
*I was happy to tie with 3rd place.*
**
*The next plan is to squeeze another dB or so out by adding a cap-hat. (or
do I need a bigger amp?)*
