Rick,
You are being too sensitive about this. Your signal has bandwidth, even your CW signal. If you operate right on the band edge some of your signal will be out of band. Just stay a couple of KCs inside. The OO was doing his job, better that he sends you a notice than the FCC. Use this as a learning experience, don't give up a wonderful hobby because of something so trivial, we need to keep good hams in the service. As far as your comments on the DX stations, that is just poor operating practices and bad manners, not really an OO concern.
