All,
The following is a paraphrased from an email on the PPARES reflector.
If you have already received the announcement/reminder, sorry for the
duplication.
This training will be interesting and worthwhile no matter if you are an
old AREA "pro" or someone new. Basic essential knowledge is always
worthwhile to learn and re-learn.
PPARES 2010 Minimum Essential ARES Training (MEAT)
--------------------------------------------------
Please mark you calendars with the following information:
When:
Saturday, October 30
8:00AM until about Noon.
Where:
Colorado Springs Police Station
Stetson Hills Division
4110 Tutt Blvd from 0800
The goal of MEAT is to provide the basic essential knowledge necessary
to operate effectively in most ARES operations. You should walk away
with a good understanding of how ARES operates and its expectations.
Rick Donaldson N0NJY, AEC Training Coordinator, has been updating this
program. If you have not been to PPARES training, or have not been for
quite some time, this will be a great session for you!
Remember, this training is important for everyone, regardless of your
past ARES training and experience. Please make this training a priority.
Also, MEAT training will help prepare for the upcoming statewide Simulated
Emergency Test (SET) code named: "Operation: Light Up The Map".
If you plan to attend, please send Rob Roller and Rick Donaldson a note to
let them know you'll be there. There should be plenty of room, but a good
headcount will be helpful. Rob's e-mail address is n7lv -at- amsat.org,
and Rick's is n0njy -at- earthlink.net.
