Phillip, and to all that volunteered for this event, great job!
I did have the opportunity to listen to probably about half of the event,
and from what I heard things were going very well. You did handle it like a
pro. Having on your team people who had done this before really helped
smooth out any rough edges. I especially want to commend the newest folks
for stepping outside of that comfort zone and showing the confidence to test
your skills! Thanks to all that participated!
These kinds of events are the best kind to learn from and gain valuable
operating experiences. From setting up radio equipment and operating
outside the comfort of your own, learning what to bring (usually by
discovering what you forgot to bring!) to operating in a formal net and
meeting and working with people at your operating location, it's a great
experience.
Keep in mind there are two more such experiences coming up in December, with
the Christmas version of this Salvation Army Holiday Dinners event, and with
the Festival of Lights parade in downtown Colorado Springs on Dec 4. Anyone
can contact Phillip again to volunteer with the Christmas Holiday Dinner and
Al Glock KC0PRM to volunteer with the Festival of Lights. And as usual, the
web site for signing up for these events is at
http://www.wavelinedata.com/ARESPSE/
Thanks to all, have a great holiday season, and stay safe!
