I'm sorry you were offended, but it was most definitely NOT out of line. 
The date you you typed was 990 years ago. I know it was a typo, but it 
was still funny.

Not that I feel the need to defend myself, but I served in the US Navy 
aboard the USS Denver and I will NOT have you question my patriotism.

Maybe you should lighten up.
