Hello,
You do not need a contesting program to record contacts during a contest,
score the program, or to submit your log (although some contests now
require a computerized Cabrillio file). But, using a contesting program makes it
a whole lot easier. This allows you to learn to contest without having to
do very much but operate.
The most popular FREE contest program is N1MM Logger. If you use any
search engine and just enter "contesting program" you will get a lot of them
(some you have to pay for while others are free) to choose from.
N1MM Logger is a full-featured contest logging program. If you are looking
for a general logger with packet alarms, award tracking, QSL generation and
other non-contest functions, you should look elsewhere. Export of logs via
ADIF to general logging programs is supported. For a complete list of
program capabilities, check the Features section.
Check the web site: _http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-index.php_
(http://n1mm.hamdocs.com/tiki-index.php) for more information or to download the
program. If I can be of any assistance please contact me.

Dave N0EOP
