[PPRAANet] Well, it happened :(

This morning I had an appointment at the Penrose Main Hospital to have my
Pacemaker checked. All is well.

When I arrived home I didn't see my tower as I usually do, and when I pulled
up in front of my home I found out why. My tower was on the ground and the
HyGain beam is totalled. Not sure about the Ham V rotor. It may have
sustained some bearing damage. I luckily had ARRL insurance and will be
contacting them. It was something that never happens to us, it always
happens to somebody else. So much for that theory.

I will be replacing the whole thing when I get an insurance settlement from
the ARRL Insurance program. Thank God I had it covered.

I'll be taking some pictures when the winds die down a bit and will be most
happy to send them to anybody that would like to see the mess. When the
tower snapped off about roof line, it came down and missed the 12' x 10'
aluminum cover over my reat deck. So, no damage to the home or anybody
physically. I'm happy about that.

If anybody knows where I can get a 30' or 40' Rohn (the one that came down
was an older Tristao, the forerunner to the wilson tubular tower available
these days), please let me know. I'd love to go up higher, but 30' to 35'
will suffice.
