all,
I am available for a work-crew on any date. I have experience erecting
towers, but have no tools or equipment. I used to install satellite
and television head-end systems and was an ET in the Navy. I have done
it all, but that was thirty pounds and twenty years ago. I can climb a
tower and perform with aplomb, but I prefer not to. I have a slight
fear of heights, but if I have a good, strong harness and a solid
tower, I can do what it takes to get an antenna up or down.
Additionally, I grew up in southern New-Mexico in a rural area, where
we had to erect a huge tower in order to get television. I had to
climb the antenna tower on a number of occasions in order to keep our
reception going. My father and brother were both too scared of heights
to climb the tower and I was less scared than they were, so I enjoyed
the experience of climbing a 250 foot tower and working on our antenna
from time to time.

Conversely, I am in the process of purchasing some land in Black
Forest and will be in the market for a new tower. hopefully, by mid
November. I have an ICom IC7000, a couple of dual-banders, a wide-band
receiver and a new trunking scanner that I want antennas for. I am
desperately in need of an antenna elmer. in order to design my
implementation. Anyone with antenna experience would be much
appreciated.
