Hello Friends,

We hope you are enjoyed the Memorial Day weekend and took time to
remember those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. I must
admit to knowing only a handful of their names, but I am grateful beyond
words for each and every one of them.

*Memorial Day also opened _Amateur Radio Week_, May 25-31, 2009
across much of the ARRL Rocky Mountain Division. Amateur Radio
Week recognizes the vital and relevant role of our division’s
amateurs as officially proclaimed by Governor Bill Ritter of
Colorado, New Mexico’s Governor Bill Richardson, and Wyoming
Governor Dave Freudenthal. Governor Jon Huntsman of Utah has also
      expressed his strong support. *

The culmination of Amateur Radio Week is the ARRL Rocky Mountain
Division Convention, HamCon Colorado 2009, to be held this weekend, May
29-31, 2009 in Estes Park, CO. This premier event features prominent and
engaging speakers, technical sessions and forums too numerous to mention
here, well-known manufacturers and stores, thousands of dollars in
prizes, a massive W1AW/0 operation, a silent auction, a nationally
recognized Storm Chaser, a QLF contest, a CW pileup contest, a
transmitter fox hunt, card checking, a VE session, an ARRL Wouff-Hong
ceremony, and much, much more.

Although on-line and mail-in reservations are now closed, we have an
endless supply of walk-in tickets available, though our luncheon,
banquet and breakfast are now sold out.

Don’t miss this stellar conference! Meet new friends, reconnect with
current ones, get re-energized and learn more about our important (and
fun!) Amateur Radio craft. Take a look at http://www.HamConColorado.org
<http://www.hamconcolorado.org/> for all the details.

See you in Estes Park!

73,
Dan - W0RO
