I should've investigated a little further before I sent the email out. I
just found out by googling YXØLIX that the QSL manager is KU9C in Morristown
NJ. Rather sad story....

Note from IK3QAR [22 Apr 2006]

Sad news from Aves.

I've received an email from Francisco EA7FTR who spoke by phone to YV5ANF,
and reports that Jose, YV5LIX while on Aves Island with the YX0A team,
became a Silent Key on Thursday night, April 20, 2006, at 57 years of age.

Jose, while mounting a dipole on the beach during the night had a sudden,
massive heart attack and died instantly. The doctors of the team made every
effort to save his life, but in vain.

The team decided to continue the DxPedition using the new call YX0LIX as a
tribute to his memory.

Our heartfelt condolences goes to his family and friends.

That was from http://www.ik3qar.it/manager/man_result.php?call=YX0LIX

I'm going to put it all in an envelope and send it off to KU9C. So, I guess
it was a little slip of the finger hitting 0 instead of 9.

Thanks.

Dennis

Subject: [PPRAANet] QSL help needed

What do I do?

Today in the mail, as trustee for the UCCS ARC license (KUØC), I received in
the mail a QSL card from Russia. It is from Volzhsk, Russia to be specific.
(Too many consonants in a row there!) From RK4SA Vlad Shmelev to be exact.
Anyway, the QSL says it is To Radio YXØLIX, confirming a QSO April 28, 2006
at 01:16 UTC on 7 MHz, CW and an RST of 599. Along with it was a
self-addressed envelope and an IRC postmarked in Portland ME on Jun 27, 2008
for US $1.85. Obviously, it wasn't the UCCS radio club that participated in
this QSO - they never had such a callsign!

What action should I take? Shall I just file the whole kit and caboodle
along with the KUØC paperwork? Or should I send it off to some other place
to be mis-sent somewhere else? I guess three years post-QSO is a long time,
anyway. Perhaps Vlad has given up on it by now. (I don't have any QSL cards
for KUØC.)

Thanks in advance for your help!
