Dick,
I had my rear ham plate stolen several years ago and some other rear
plates were stolen from the same parking lot the same night in Vail but
I'm sure mine was the only ham plate. You might as well go to the county
and order a new plate and they are all of $3 or something reasonable,
but it will take at least a month to six weeks. I just happened to have
another W0KEA plate and they gave me new stickers and registration that
you could put on the front plate and move it to the rear. I did order
the new plate but never used it on the car after I received it, but it
looks good on the shack wall with no dings on it. Some license plate
collector will probably have your plate in his collection after having
bought it from who ever took it. Hopefully they won't rob a bank using
your plate!
The chances of recovering it are between slim and none.
