Hello
Our club is required by law to spend the money made from last year's raffle
tickets for things that further benefit the amateur radio and community
activities. One of the suggestions is to supply a school with a complete
amateur radio station. Apparently the club already tried this years ago but
few can remember if it was successful, or even what happened to the station
equipment. If any old timers can provide some details on what happened, we
would appreciate hearing from you. Your input will be held confidential if
you so desire. Please email us at boardmembers at ppraa.org or let us know at
the next meeting this coming Wed. at Fargos Pizza. We'll even bribe you to
attend by having free pizza!
Another item on the table for consideration is contributing money towards
the Cheyenne Mountain Repeater Group's account to purchase and install a D
star system in our area. CMRG has generously donated the second prize radio
every year at the Megafest Raffle. Perhaps this is an opportunity to help
them as well as the rest of the repeater community. Does anyone else
remember when HF went from AM to SSB, or VHF went from AM to FM? Hmmm,
shades of Deju Vu.
So please forward your suggestions and comments about the direction you want
your club to follow.
