Ken,
   The two main EMCOMM groups in the area are ARES District 14 and El Paso
County RACES. 
   ARES doesn't have meetings for the general members. Their web site is at
http://www.ppares.org/ and has a lot of information and contact information.
They have a net each Tuesday evening at 7pm local time on the 146.970
repeater.
   EL Paso County RACES has a monthly meeting the third Thursday of each
month at 7pm at the Sheriffs office located at 101 W. Costilla. They are
sponsored by the El Paso County Sheriff. They have a net each Tuesday
evening at 7:30 local time on the 146.760 repeater. They also have an HF net
every Sunday evening immediately following the Colorado State RACES Net,
which begins at 5 PM MST. The frequency for this net is 3990.5 kHz.
