DB9F to DB25M serial cable, preferably shielded
Hello,
Hoping to avoid paying an arm and a leg locally, or waiting to get one from
off the internet (for just a few bucks + shipping), I am hoping that someone
out there has a short (1 - 6 feet) computer serial cable, with DB9F on one
end and DB25M on the other, that they would be willing to part with for
little or no cost. It would be preferable if it were shielded cable, as I am
finally trying to get my packet station going. I've been through initial
digital training three times now, and I hope the third time is the charm!
Please let me know if you might have such a cable that you could part with.
On a side note, I took a look for KPC-3 Plus TNCs. If you can manage to find
one new and available, the price is now up to about $225. That's crazy! At
that price, it seems it should have a built in GPS, too! They must be
restraining production to keep the price artificially inflated. Sound like
oil.... no, wait - that's attributed to speculators now.
Thanks for checking!

P.S. If you've read this far.... I have an original, VERY slightly used AEA
PK-232 in my basement since my SWL days. I found that I could upgrade it to
a PK-232 MBX for about $100 or to a PK-232 DSP for about $160 I think it
was. Would anybody out there in PPRAA-land have any suggestions on whether
either of those options would be worthwhile? Thanks again.
