[PPRAANet] Thursday Night Net

Good Evening every one,

Thursday night I will be NCS for the 2 meter net.  Several people had
indicated they would like to try Simplex.  I realize some of our newer
people only have an HT.  What I would like to do this Thursday, Start the
Net the normal way on 146.910 PL 151.4.  After we finish with the ARRL news.
That is if Jim (AB0UK) would be kind enough do the ARRL News this Thursday.
Last week I counted the number of times the young lady said "ARRL".  39
times. I just did it for fun. We will switch to 146.520 (the normal simplex
channel).  This will be a good time to check the coverage of your radios.
Item one of the purpose for the net is "1. Practice local Communications".
In order to practice, what would happen if for one reason or another the
repeater was not working. We wouldn't know our coverage.  I hope you all
will join in on the fun and enjoy the test.

We are still in need of volunteers to be NCS once or twice or more a month.

If you have ideas about the net please bring them forth.  We could do a tech
night.  Almost like a club meeting, have someone be NCS who is an expert on
something (antennas, digital, computers, or anything you would like to talk
about).
