Hello all,
Here is a good chance to work a very OLD rig. Two years ago when I was in
Washington I had the chance to operate this rig.

Dear RCT members...
I posted the message below on the Straight Key Century Club (SKCC)
Yahoo Group.
What is SKCC? It is an 'eclub' of over 4000 hams who like to make CW
contacts with straight keys and/or bugs. This January is their 2nd
anniversary... so to celebrate, they have obtained the special event
call sign of K2A. SKCC members can sign up to operate with the K2A
callsign.
Alan N7OMS has obtained the K2A callsign for the Doc Spike W7OS
Museum to operate as K2A/7... this Sunday, Jan 27, from 3:00 PM to
6:00 PM local time. So, tune us in... or stop by the Museum and join
in.
SKCC message follows:
Hello...
The Clifford J "Doc Spike" W7OS Antique Amateur Radio Museum (SKCC NR
2714) has the priveledge of operating with the K2A SKCC Anniversary
call sign.
Listen for K2A/7 on Sunday Jan 27 beginning at 3:00 PM Pacific
Time... same as 2300 hrs UTC on Jan 27.
We are scheduled with the K2A/7 call until 6:00 PM Pacific
Time...same as 0200 hrs UTC on Jan 28.
The W7OS Museum will be operating SKs and Bugs (of course) and the
rig will be a unique one of a kind bread board transmitter from the
pre-WWII days of amateur radio. The receiver is a Hammarlund HQ120X,
also pre WWII. A couple of the OPS are pre WWII, the oldest licensed
in 1934.
So, listen for "Ole Chirpy" as K2A/7 on 7052.7 KCs at the above
times. A special QSL card will be issued to those who make contact.
You can view the old antique rig at www.w7dk/w7os There are two
links that will take the avid surfer to the W7OS Straight Key Night
photo page and a pdf publication with more info about Straight Key
Night.
