[PPRAANet] Thursday Night Net

This seems to be a temptest in a teapot. I notice that those commenting were not on the net and thus so don't have first hand knowledge of what actually transpired. The PPRAA net on the night in question (January 31) had it's usual net on it's usual frequency of 146.91 at the usual time of 7PM MST. After the net concluded about 7:45PM the NCS suggested that those interested in simplex operation QSY to 146.52. There was 3-4 people that moved to the suggested frequency. We spent about 10 minutes on that frequency and then QSYed to 146.58. This was the first time this has happened and I'm unaware of any plans to do so again in the future. This is not to say at sometime in the future PPRAA will not have a simplex net again.

One could discuss the merits of "assigned" frequencies but given the circumstances it seems pointless at this time. It seems we should be pleased that there were several individuals interested in using a frequency.
