Paraset Day Special Event will be held on 'D' Day, 6 June, Wednesday, by the ParasetBuilders Yahoogroup.

Several Parasets will be on the air from 0000z to 0300z, (7 June in Zulu time).

Some stations will be on the air at other times too. This is like a fox hunt.

Paraset stations are crystal controlled and some will be using special 1X1 call signs.

Here is a list of Paraset stations that will be on the air:

w4a (wx4a/kp4 Bill) 7010/7037/7051

k6p (km6or Doug) 7050

kf9cm/p Gary 7037/7039, 3.550/3590
g3efy Tom 3560

g4gdr Adrian 3560

ve1nu Reed, will be using his Real WW2 Paraset on 7007 (Double Oh Seven).

(The First 5 minutes of each hour are reserved for the Paraset Stations to work other off frequency crystal controlled stations or other Paraset stations).

fyi:

The Paraset is a small British "Spy" transmitter/receiver supplied to the resistance forces during WWII mainly in France, Belgium and the Netherlands, (probably by parachute).

It uses 3 metal tubes :

1) 6SK7 - Regen. Detector

2) 6SK7 - AF Amplifier

3) 6V6 - Crystal Oscillator/Power Amplifier

The range covered by the receiver is 3.2 - 8 MHz on AM and CW modes.

The transmitter is crystal controlled with an output of about 5 watts.

They have built-in unadjustable keys so we won't be sending very fast.
