I just received confirmation of the room at CTU for both VE sessions in
February. They are:
February 10th at 9:00 AM.
and
February 24th at 8:00 AM. (Yes - 8:00. A special time for a special
session. I anticipate allowing walk-ins until 9:30 or so at this session.)
February 10th will be our regularly scheduled, full service session -
including Elements 1, 2, 3 and 4. This will be your last opportunity to take
a Morse Code test with our VE team. If you had your heart set on passing a
code test, then this is the session to attend.
February 24th is a special session to give everyone an early opportunity to
upgrade after the effective date (2/23) of the no-code requirement. It is
also a "full service session" in that all newly applicable elements will be
offered (2, 3, and 4). Whether you intend to test to upgrade or you hold a
valid CSCE (credit) for Elements 3 or 4, this would be the session to
attend. Please note that with this/these being ARRL/VEC sessions, the
current $14 fee (per session) is applicable, even for "paperwork upgrades".
The location for both of these sessions is Colorado Tech., room 101
(planned - we have been placed in another room once!). Here are the
directions:
>From I-25, go west on Garden of the Gods Road, to Chestnut (first light).
Turn left/south on Chestnut, and CTU is a few hundred yards on the left/east
side of Chestnut.
As always, remember to bring proper (photo) ID, your valid current Amateur
Radio license and a copy for us, and your original and a copy of any valid
CSCE.
