I wanted to thank all of you who have donated time and photographs and words to the latest issue of the 0-Beat newsletter. It has been a pleasure to get to know some of you through your memories and pictures. For the first time since I took over as editor I have a backlog of articles. Okay, it's only three articles, but that's an improvement.

As I learn more about amateur radio and the people who are drawn to the airwaves, I'm finding out there is more to hams than rag chews and hamfests. Many of you share a genuine pioneering spirit and seem to find the most fascinating ways of turning found objects or cast offs into something workable. I hope more of you surface with your tales and memories of first encounters with amateur radio, boat anchors (I see what you mean) and where you take to the air waves and send them to me. It is a pleasure getting to know you and see hams from a different angle.

There's no time like the present to dig through your shack and your memories and send your tips, quips and equipment innovations. October 25th isn't that far away.

73, as always...
