i have a Pedestrian Mobile Apprentice opening for Feb. 4, at the FYBO
operation at the North Pole. The coldest FYBO operating location in Colorado.
FYBO for pedestrian mobile operators is the "Freeze Your Boots Off" contest.
Prerequisites:
Able to carry heavy back pack radio for an hour in deep snow.
Willing to sign medical release for exposure to high power RF Fields.
Bring your own cold weather field gear, water, food..etc. to the North Pole.
Ability to copy 40 wpm an advantage, but not necessary.
Duties:
Portage heavy military radio and spare batteries and supplies for Chief
Operator (CHOP) .
Log all contacts made by the CHOP.
Benefits:
Intern volunteers may operate CW or SSB for 10% of the carry time, no license
required.
This is a good opportunity to experience HF Pedestrian Mobile FYBO operation
first hand for free.
Location:
North Pole, Cascade, CO
4 Feb., Starting 9am. Time slots maybe assigned.
FYBO is the premier QRP winter Field Day operation.
