All interested amateur radio operators are invited/encouraged to
participate in a special event station (KØO) at the United States Olympic
Training Center (USOTC) this Saturday (2/11/06) commemorating the opening
of the 2006 XX Winter Games in Torino, Italy.  This is a unique special
event that will draw a lot of interest nation/worldwide.  We expect our
stations to be much sought-after, resulting in a lot of pile-ups, which
should make it a LOT of fun!  Event specifics below.

Who:  All interested amateur radio operators
What:  U.S. Olympic Training Center Special Event Station (KØO)
Where:  Biomechanics Lab (2nd floor, Sport Science & Technology Building),
U.S. Olympic Training Center
	NW corner of Union Blvd & Boulder; immediately east of Memorial
Hospital
When:
	Operations:  09:00 - 16:00 Saturday, Feb. 11
	Setup: 13:00 Friday, Feb. 10th
	Teardown:  16:00 Saturday, Feb. 11
Why:  Commemorate opening of the 2006 Olympic Games in Torino, Italy
Event Director:  Bill Sands, ACØED
Talk-In:  146.580 simplex (NOTE:  new frequency from previous releases)
Handicap Access:  Call on Simplex, someone will meet you and bring you in

We will have two HF SSB stations and one V/UHF/FM/Digital station (all
equipment provided)
We need operators/loggers to keep the stations on the air throughout the
event
Control operators can be provided for those that don't have HF privileges
We need people to help with both setup and teardown (times above)

Target HF frequencies (may change due to conditions/QRM):

Refreshments (for operators) and tour of USOTC available

Specific Directions:

Enter the Training Center at the Guard Shack just west of Union Blvd on
Boulder
At guard shack:  Tell them you're a ham radio operator helping with the
special event station at the Sport Science & Technology building.
>From guard shack:  Turn right and count the speed bumps
Follow curve to the left (north) -- keep counting speed bumps!
Park in vicinity of 5th speed bump (small white construction trailer in
parking lot)
Take sidewalk to the west (north side of Gym 11, Building 34)
You'll come to a N/S sidewalk with sport figure sculptures
Walk toward the yellow tennis player sculpture
The "Sport Science & Technology" building is on your left
Enter the foyer of the building
You need to go upstairs to the SECOND FLOOR
Look for a staircase to the right behind a wall
DO NOT GO INTO THE "SPORTS MEDICINE" AREA on the first floor -- this is a
restricted area!
At top of stairs go through double wooden doors to your right
Go about 4 steps, then left through doorway into the Sports Biomechanics
Laboratory
