Hi All,
Below is a message from Larry w0qe. He is the organizer of the Denver area foxhunts. He has invited our club members to join their events. The next one is scheduled for February 26. Below is his e-mail. I plan to go. If anyone needs a ride (I can take one), please let me know and I'll try to hook you up with someone going from here.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Larry w0qe.

It appears that the concensus is to delay the Feruary foxhunt 2 weeks to allow more of the Denver hunters to be able to make it. As most of you know I have been trying to get more people interested in transmitter hunting and have been in contact with some folks in the Colorado Springs area who are interested in attending. Let's have a good turnout and make the folks from the Springs feel welcome.
Hunt type: This will be an "on foot" hunt clinic with many transmitters to practice with and a multiple transmitter hunt after the practice.
Date: Sunday, February 26
Time: 3:00pm (I will be at the area by 2:00pm so if anyone (especially newcomers) may come early if desired)
Location: Bear Creek Park starting at the parking lot on Estes St. at Bear Creek
Estes St. is a north-south street which is 8800 west and located between Wadsworth Blvd (CO 121) and Kipling St.
It is about 5-6 blocks north of W. Hamden Ave. (US 285) and 1 block south of Yale St.
The park is pretty flat with a lot of trees and vegetation for good transmitter hiding.
There are paved and dirt trails in the park and some bush wacking will be done.
Frequency: Several frequencies in the 2m band all FM modulated.
Dinner: After the hunt we go to dinner at some nearby restaurant to eat and tell lies. Again all are welcome.
I am sending this email to 3 of the Colorado Springs guys who I hope will invite any others that may be interested.
Please bring ALL your foxhunting equipment with charged batteries as needed. Understanding how good or poor your existing equipment is will be the first topic demonstrated. We will then discuss some techniques with hands on practice. I will bring some loaner equipment including several attenuators, and antennas but everyone needs to bring at least one 2m HT with a signal strength indicator.
All levels of experience are welcome and you are welcome to participate in either the clinic and/or the hunt as desired. I'm sure anyone
would also be welcome to walk along with someone in the real hunt if they don't feel like participating themselves. For those who only hunt a single transmitter per month this is an opportunity to hunt more than a year's worth in one day.
If I have forgotten anything or if there are any questions feel free to contact me at either w0qe at bnk.com or xxw0qe at comcast.net or 303-465-3183(home). I can also be reached on my cell at 303-916-9470 and will have it with me on the day of the hunt.
