Sorry for any duplication, the first time I sent this out to the reflector
it was kicked back to me as too many email address so here it is again and hope
you dont get it twice but I do apologize.
Hi folks, I have recently purchased a new house and in the process of
moving. I've taken down all my antennas except my A-3s beam, I cant do it by my
self. I also have some furniture that my wife and I just cant move, because of
my health. So I am asking for HAM help.
I plan on doing this major part on Saturday, August 19th between
approximately 9-10am. I do have a 17 ft used U-haul truck that I bought so
transporation is no problem. The address moving from is:
4118 Channing PL. and moving to 4814 Constitution Ave. at the top of the
hill.
Directions to the Channing PL address is:
from Academy Blvd southbound turn left onto Pikes Peak going East, just past
the strip mall on the right, the first street is Ruskin, turn right and go
down the hill, to the third street on the left is Whittier turn left follow it
around to the second street Longfellow, turn right and then immediately turn
left onto Channing Pl. 4118 is at the back of the Cul De Sac, the U-haul
truck will be in the driveway. I will try for parking on the center of the
street but you might have to park at end of Channing and walk in, hopefully not.
Of course if your coming Northbound on Academy the only difference is turn
Right onto Pikes Peak going east then just follow the directions above.
If your coming South on Murray, you go past Pikes Peak and you will come to
a traffic lite and you want the street just past the traffic lite which is
Whittier, follow it to your first left turn onto Longfellow then left onto
Channing.
If your coming Northbound on Murray just past the light at Airport the first
left is Shelly, follow it around to your first right hand turn which is
Longfellow, you will then pass several right and left turns onto several cul de
sacs, just look for Channing. If you come to the stop sign at Longfellow and
Whittier just back up about 30 ft and you will be at Channing, again turn
right go to the back of the cul de sac.
I will have all the dollies we will need(and I found out that I have use of
a furniture dolley from Jim, AB0UK, thanks Jim) as well as tools. The A3
beam is on a Radio Shack push up mast so that shouldnt be any problems. The day
it was put up, Mike Anderson, Wv7t did it all by himself, so it's not a
difficult problem, again I need this help because I physically cant do any of
this heavy lifting and moving alone. I have 3 dressers in the master bedroom,
an oversized new refrigerator, that I have to completely take the sliding
patio door and window out to get it out. The fridge is so big that at the new
house it will have to be put in the garage as there are NO doors big enough to
get it through, if only I would have known before we either bought the house
or the fridge. Downstairs is an up right freezer, it is not big and my pool
table, the heavy parts are the slates, there are three. Yes I have a spot
picked out at the new house for the pool table.
The one nice thing about my new home is sitting on top of Constitution Ave
between Murray and Powers so when I get my antennas up I will have some
excellent al-titude.
Again August 19th a Saturday, between 9-10 am, yes we will have coffee if I
can borrow the club pot and yes we will have pizza and sodas for lunch.
I wont need an rsvp just show up and help a ham in need, if you cant do
lifting then you can be an armchair supervisor. I also put this same info out at
the PPRAA club meeting tonite, Aug 9th.
Thanks and 73s to all,
