I also have what sounds like that same antenna -- or a close relative.  I
bought it used in the early 1960s when I was in Junior High School.  Mine
was taken down by my parents after I left home for college and has been in
storage ever since.  I recall it was a great antenna and I worked the
world with mine.  Your description of the distinctive "elliptical loops"
on the end of each element is what caught my attention.  I don't recall
the name or manufacturer, however, I did a Google search on "amateur radio
hornet antenna" and came up with a manual listing -- available for
purchase at $16.

I would like to overhaul my antenna and re-assemble/tune/test and try
using it -- let me know if you find anything further on this antenna.
